ChemInform Abstract

A convenient general method for the synthesis of the title fluoro compounds such as (II) and (IV) is presented. Compound (IV) is an intermediate which on saponification leads to 2-fluoroporphobilinogen which may be useful as an inhibitor of the enzyme porphobilinogen deaminase.
