ChemInform Abstract

The novel title compound is prepared by a B2O3 flux technique and characterized by single crystal XRD methods. The green single crystals, which adopt the monoclinic space group P21/c with Z = 4, are isotypic with Cu2Co(B2O5)O except for Zn in pentacoordination with oxygen. The structure containing Cu(1) in square planar and Cu(2) in tetragonal pyramidal coordination with O, contains isolated B2O5 units and oxygen not coordinated with boron.
