ChemInform Abstract
A novel approach to the title compounds such as (IX) and (XIV) which might be of interest for the synthesis of amino acid derivatives is performed via a radical process in a disfavoured 5-endo-trig cyclization. The title amides such as (VIII) and (XIII), used as precursors for this reaction, are easily prepared from serine (I) or its derivative (XI).
