ChemInform Abstract

A general and high-yielding method for the solid-phase synthesis of substituted arylacetic acid derivatives such as (IX) and (XI) (13 examples) is presented. The key carbon-carbon bond forming reactions in the synthesis sequence are enolate alkylation yielding (V) and palladium-mediated Suzuki cross-coupling using either (VI) or (X). Nucleophilic cleavage from the support can also be achieved with hydroxide forming carboxylic acids.
