ChemInform Abstract

Conversion of the vinylsilane (I) to a Pd(O) complex followed by reduction using sodium formate or butylzinc chloride yields the allylsilane (II) as the major product. When (IV) is treated similarly, the diene (VII) is formed with predominance. The tosylate (VIII) is selctively reduced to give the allylidenecyclopropane (IX) or the vinylcyclopropane (X).
