ChemInform Abstract
The ester (I), obtained from a hydroxymethylpyrroline via ortho-ester Claisen rearrangement, is converted into the bromoethyl derivative ( III). Amination with the phthalimide (V) yields the radical (VI) which is subsequently transformed into the target compound (XII). (XII) is a free radical reagent with a photoactivatable and cleavable side arm.
