ChemInform Abstract

Red crystals of the title compound are prepared by solid state reaction of K2CO3, CuO, CoC2O4, V2O5 and As2O5×5 H2O at 850 . degree.C. According to the four-circle diffractometer data, the compound is isotypic with Johillerite (Na(Mg,Zn)3Cu(AsO4)3) and crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with Z = 4. The structure consists of isolated twisted-square CuO4 polygons, CoO6 octahedra and (As,V)O4 tetrahedra with As5+ and V5+ in statistical distribution and of K+ ions in a special 4 + 4 coordination.
