ChemInform Abstract

Lithium tetraalkylaluminates (“ate-complexes”), generated from LiAlH4 and the corresponding alkenes (II), react with polyfluoroalkanoyl chlorides (I) to give the polyfluorinated ketones (III). Investigations with other polyfluoroalkanoic acid derivatives reveal that (I) are more reactive than their esters or anhydrides, respectively.
