ChemInform Abstract

The dioxolane derivatives (VI) and (VII), which can be prepared from L- ascorbic acid as well as from D-mannitol, are found to be useful in the synthesis of all stereoisomers of dioxolane nucleosides like (XI), (XIII), and (XIV).
