ChemInform Abstract
The ketone (I) is converted into the aldehyde (III) by Wittig reaction with the phosphonium salt (II) and subsequent hydrolysis of the resulting enol ether. Wittig olefination followed by dehydrobromination gives the acetylene (VI) which is further transformed as shown in the reaction scheme. The title compounds show a high affinity for the progesterone receptor.
