ChemInform Abstract

Nucleophilic substitution reaction at the phosphorus of the 1-chloro- 1H-phosphirene (I) with the alkyllithium compounds (II) yields the 1- alkylphosphirenes (III). Further treatment of (III) with (II) produces the title compounds (IV). In contrast, similar reaction of (V) with ( II) gives the allenes (VI). A mechanism is discussed.
