ChemInform Abstract
The Pd-catalyzed, atmospheric-pressure carboxylation of allylic halides occurs readily in the described two-phase system giving β, γ-unsaturated acids. Phosphine complexes such as PdCl2L2 (L: dpm, PPh3) and also Na2PdCl4 can be used as the catalyst. Atmospheric- pressure alkoxycarbonylation of e.g. (I) is realized under the influence of a homogeneous alcoholic solution of sodium alkoxide. Phosphine-free Pd complexes such as ((π-3-phenylallyl)PdCl)2 and Na2PdCl4 are the favored catalyst. The β,γ-unsaturated esters are obtained in high yields.
