ChemInform Abstract

Starting from the key compound (V), the mono- and dialkylated thiocyanohydrins (VIII) and (XI) are prepared by an alkylation- deprotection sequence under mild conditions. Furthermore, the use of thioacetonitrile (III) for the generation of unstable thioaldehyde ( XII) and thioformylcyanide (XIV) is demonstrated.
