In view of the interest in α-fluoro-α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds as intermediates in the synthesis of fluorine- containing, biologically active compounds, a new method is demonstrated, in which alkyl halides such as (II) (18 examples) and Michael acceptors such as (V) (5 examples) are fluoroolefinated to give the title esters (III) and (VI).
