ChemInform Abstract

are prepared starting from mixtures M2+F2/Nb2O5 = 1:7 (M2+: Ni, Co) by chemical transport reactions in a temp. gradient (e.g. 1200 → 1100 °C). As shown for the isostructural MgNb14O35F2, block structures are present, consisting of edge-sharing building elements of (3·5) M-X octahedra (X: O, F) in a monoclinic arrangement. HRTEM investigations show only few structural irregularities in the ideal structure.
