ChemInform Abstract

The photochemical reaction of (I) with Fe2(CO)9 (II) gives unexpectedly the novel compounds (III). They are interesting because of their heteronuclear character, which is unprecedented in the chemistry of monoazadiene ligands. The structure is confirmed by an X-ray analysis of (IIIb) (space group P21/c, Z=4).
