ChemInform Abstract

The long-term stability of several Na+ and O2- ion selective electrodes (e.g. Ag/Ag+/mullite, Ag/Ag+/fused silica, O2(Pt)/Na2O-WO3/fused silica, and CaO- and Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2 electrodes) in an acidic Na2SO4 melt are tested and the results are interpreted. The best stabilities are observed for the Ag/Ag+/fused silica and the Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2 electrodes.
