ChemInform Abstract

The stable bis(phosphine)-Pt η2-disilene complexes (III) and (VI) analogous to olefin π-complexes are prepared by various methods shown in the scheme. (IIIb) also can be obtained from the corresponding bis(phosphine)ethylene-Pt(0) complex and (II) in 18% yield. The reactions of the diphosphine chelates (VI) with small molecules such as H2, O2, and NH3 lead to the bis(silanyl) complex (VIII) (space group P21/n, Z=4) and the new four-membered heterocycles (IX) ((IXb): P1, Z=2) and (XI), respectively.
