ChemInform Abstract

The study shows that the formation of metallaheterocycles cannot be achieved only with anionic carbonyl complexes but also with electron-rich neutral carbonyls as the title compound (III). The novel metallacycloimides (V) and the metallacycloacylthioamide (IX) provide the first examples of these particular functional groups. (IX) is obtained together with the double addition product (X) from which it cannot be separated. The latter is identified by 1H NMR data and by comparison to (VI). (VI) ( P21/n, Z=4) is formed by addition of phenyl isothiocyanate to (III) which is in surprising contrast to the reaction of (III) with phenyl isocyanate. Reaction mechanisms are proposed.
