ChemInform Abstract: Electrosynthesis and Photoelectroactivity of Polycrystalline p-Type Cadmium Selenide.
Abstract
Photoelectroactivity data obtained using a CdSe/TiO2 film electrode, prepared by electrochemical codeposition from 0.1 M CdCl2 + 0.01 M SeO2, and a CdSe pellet under identical experimental conditions are clearly indicative of p-type semiconductivity for the CdSe film.
ChemInform Abstract
Photoelectroactivity data obtained using a CdSe/TiO2 film electrode, prepared by electrochemical codeposition from 0.1 M CdCl2 + 0.01 M SeO2, and a CdSe pellet under identical experimental conditions are clearly indicative of p-type semiconductivity for the CdSe film. This result is supported by current-voltage data as well as by the photoelectrochemical characteristics of a hetero-junction PEC formed by the p-CdSe electrode combined with an n-CdSe electrode. The film exhibits reasonable stability although its activity is not attractive. Nevertheless it can be combined with an n-CdSe electrode to obtain enhanced photoresponsiveness.
