Abstract

The siloxyenones (I) are coupled with the lithiated allene (II) to produce the carbinols (III) which are desilylated and subsequently epoxidized to give the oxiranes (IV).

The siloxyenones (I) are coupled with the lithiated allene (II) to produce the carbinols (III) which are desilylated and subsequently epoxidized to give the oxiranes (IV). These are cyclized upon treatment with a base and then methylated with diazomethane (V) to yield the methoxyquinones (VI).
