AlCl3-catalzyed Diels-Alder reaction of the cyclohexenone (I) with butadiene (II) yields after chromatographic separation the bicyclo-(4.4.0)decenone (III) which is converted to the hydrocarbon (VI) mentioned in the title by reduction of the tosylhydrazone (V) with sodium borohydride.
