Abstract

The Pb-bridged Mn2 complexes (III) are obtained by equimolar reaction of the photochemically generated THF-Mn complex (I) with PbCl2 (II).

ChemInform Abstract

The Pb-bridged Mn2 complexes (III) are obtained by equimolar reaction of the photochemically generated THF-Mn complex (I) with PbCl2 (II). Further reaction of (IIIb) with (Ib) yields the Mn3Pb complex (IV) which is isolobal with methylene cyclopropane. The structures of the Mn2Pb complex (IIIa) (space group I42d, Z = 8) and Mn3Pb complex (IV) (P1, Z=2) are determined by X-ray analysis.
