Abstract

The benzotriazolyl (thio)amides (I), prepared by condensation reaction of benzotriazole (IV), aldehydes, and (thio)amides, undergo substitution reaction with the Grignard reagents (II), producing the secondary (thio)amides (III).

ChemInform Abstract

The benzotriazolyl (thio)amides (I), prepared by condensation reaction of benzotriazole (IV), aldehydes, and (thio)amides, undergo substitution reaction with the Grignard reagents (II), producing the secondary (thio)amides (III). Alkaline work-up removes (IV) from the reaction mixture.
