Abstract

The (di)thiocarbonates (I) are reduced with tributyltin hydride/triethylborane to form the corresponding hydrocarbons (II).

ChemInform Abstract

The (di)thiocarbonates (I) are reduced with tributyltin hydride/triethylborane to form the corresponding hydrocarbons (II). The O-(2-phenylthioalkyl)dithiocarbonates (IX) produce the olefins (X) under analogous conditions. The preparation of the starting material (IXd) is also described.
