Abstract

Results of theoretical (MNDO) and experimental studies of the properties and reactions of phenyl, 1- and 2-naphthalenyl, and 9-anthracenyl radicals with toluene and naphthalene (gas phase at 400 and 450 °C) are reported.

ChemInform Abstract

Results of theoretical (MNDO) and experimental studies of the properties and reactions of phenyl, 1- and 2-naphthalenyl, and 9-anthracenyl radicals with toluene and naphthalene (gas phase at 400 and 450 °C) are reported. Arylation rates for each radical are measured relative to hydrogen abstraction from toluene (kar/kabs).
