ChemInform Abstract

, prepared by reaction of liquid H2S or D2S with Cs (room temp., pressure resistant glass tubes), is studied by X-ray and neutron diffraction. Three solid phases of CsDS are identified depending on the temp.: at 9 K a phase with fixed orientation of the anion, tetragonal, I4/m, Z = 8; in the range 100-210 K a phase with distorted CsCl-type structure with a two side jump position of D linearly aligned via S, P4/mbm, Z=2; and at T ≥ 210 K a CsCl-type phase with quasifree rotation of the anion, Pm3m, Z=1.
