Abstract

The total syntheses of ceroplastol II (XII) and albolic acid (XIII) are accomplished for the first time.

ChemInform Abstract

The total syntheses of ceroplastol II (XII) and albolic acid (XIII) are accomplished for the first time. The key step is a stereocontrolled Cope rearrangement of either (VIa) or (VIb) to the thermolysates (VIIa,b) via a normally disfavored boat transition geometry.
