Abstract

The synthesis of the first stable cis-diphosphenes (V) is accomplished by reaction of the dichlorophosphenes (I) with the compounds (II) or (III) followed by base-induced elimination of HCl (X-ray analysis for (Va): space group P21/c; Z=4 and (Vb): space group Pbca; Z = 8).

ChemInform Abstract

The synthesis of the first stable cis-diphosphenes (V) is accomplished by reaction of the dichlorophosphenes (I) with the compounds (II) or (III) followed by base-induced elimination of HCl (X-ray analysis for (Va): space group P21/c; Z=4 and (Vb): space group Pbca; Z = 8). In solution, the title compounds (V) are decomposed within a few days or hours, depending on the temp., to give the products (VI) and (VII). Reaction of (Va) with the Ni compounds (VIII) or (X) affords the compounds (IX) or (XI) (no yield given for (XI)).
