ChemInform Abstract

The reduction potentials of the benzyl radicals (II) are measured (linear Hammett correlation with σ-; ρ = 13) and the pKa's of the corresponding toluenes (I) are calculated ranging from 55.2 to 39.8 for 4-O-Me and 4-Ac, respectively.
