Abstract
Starting with the dichlorophosphine (I) and ethylene oxide (II), the phosphinate (VIII) is prepared as shown in the reaction scheme.

Starting with the dichlorophosphine (I) and ethylene oxide (II), the phosphinate (VIII) is prepared as shown in the reaction scheme. This synthesis is also performed as a one pot procedure with a total yield of 79%.
