Abstract
The title compounds (±)-inandenin-10-ol (V), inandenin-10-one (VI) and (±)-oncinotine (VII) are prepared via the common intermediate (IV).

The title compounds (±)-inandenin-10-ol (V), inandenin-10-one (VI) and (±)-oncinotine (VII) are prepared via the common intermediate (IV). The synthesis of (VII) from (IV) is achieved via two pathways which both include a temporary protection of the terminal amino group with Nefkens' reagent.
