ChemInform Abstract

The Ni(0) complex (I) reacts with Grignard reagents such as (II), (VII) or (VIII) to give crystalline thermolabile compounds (IV), (VI), (IX) or (X). An X-ray structure analysis, carried out for (IXa) (P21/a, Z=4), confirms the bridged three-center-bonding in the complexes. According to their 1H and 13C NMR spectra, the bridging and terminal alkyl groups do not exchange in solution at 0 °C.
