ChemInform Abstract: A Mixed-Valence Tetranuclear Platinum(I,II) Complex with a Pt(I)-Pt(I) Bond.
Abstract
The air-stable, tetranuclear, unusual mixed-valence Pt(I,II) compound (I) is isolated from a solution containing K2PtCl4, NaOMe in MeOH, DMSO, DMF, and H2O in the presence of air-O2.
ChemInform Abstract
The air-stable, tetranuclear, unusual mixed-valence Pt(I,II) compound (I) is isolated from a solution containing K2PtCl4, NaOMe in MeOH, DMSO, DMF, and H2O in the presence of air-O2. Three different solvates of (I) are characterized by X-ray structure analysis. The structure and dimensions of (I) are almost identical in all solvates. (I)·2 H2O crystallizes in the space group P21/c with Z=4, (I)·H2O·DMF and (I)·CH2Cl2 in the space group P1 with Z=2 (no yields given).
