ChemInform Abstract

The title complex (III) is obtained together with a probably tetranuclear complex and separated mechanically. The formation of (III) from (I) and (II) is the first example of an amidoxime acting as a source of NO. An X-ray structure determination of (III) (space group P21/n, Z=4) shows that this Mo(II) 18-electron complex has a pentagonal bipyramidal geometry and is also the first example of a side-on-ligated acetamidoximate ligand.
