Abstract
Mixed-ligand chelate extraction of lanthanoids such as La, Pr, Eu, Ho, Yb into CHCl3 with the title compound HL1 and the three phosphine oxides L2 and L3 is studied.

Mixed-ligand chelate extraction of lanthanoids such as La, Pr, Eu, Ho, Yb into CHCl3 with the title compound HL1 and the three phosphine oxides L2 and L3 is studied. Lanthanoid ions are found to be extracted from a 0.1 M sodium perchlorate medium as (Ia) or (Ib), and in the absence or presence of sodium perchlorate as (II) or (III), respectively. The extraction constants of these systems do not increase monotonically with atomic number but have a maximum at Eu or Ho.
