Abstract

Reaction of the dimercaptothiadiazole (I) with the aziridine (II) gives the bisaminoethylmercapto derivative (III) which is cyclized with phthaloyl chloride (IV), forming the macrocyclic compound (V).

ChemInform Abstract

Reaction of the dimercaptothiadiazole (I) with the aziridine (II) gives the bisaminoethylmercapto derivative (III) which is cyclized with phthaloyl chloride (IV), forming the macrocyclic compound (V). This, the macrocycles (VI) and (VII) previously described, the open-chain compounds (VIII) and the complex of (VIIIa) with copper(II) acetate have antimicrobial activity.
