ChemInform Abstract

The isomerization of 5-vinylnorbornene (I) to give the ethylidene derivative (II) is catalyzed by a superbasic system which is prepared from γ-alumina, sodium hydroxide and sodium at 280 - 300°C in an inert atmosphere.
