Abstract

The 1,2,4-triazinium salt (I) reacts with o-phenylenediamine (II) or the diaminopyrimidone (IV) to give quinoxaline (III) and pteridin-4-one (V) respectively.

ChemInform Abstract

The 1,2,4-triazinium salt (I) reacts with o-phenylenediamine (II) or the diaminopyrimidone (IV) to give quinoxaline (III) and pteridin-4-one (V) respectively. In the reaction of (I) with the diaminopyridine (VI), the primary cyclization products are isolated as a mixture of the regioisomers (VII) and (VIII). Oxidation of (VII) yields the pyridopyrazine (IX). (1H-NMR-data).
