, has been prepared by the reaction of gaseous (I) (prepared by thermolysis of AsCl4+AsF6-) with solid CaCl2 as outlined in the scheme (no yield given). The new arsorane is characterized by its matrix-IR and Raman spectra, which exhibit eight vibrational bands. The spectra are assigned according to D3h symmetry. The assignment of the vibrational modes is confirmed by a normal coordinate analysis.
