ChemInform Abstract

The kinetics of the formation of the anions (II) and (III) have been determined spectroscopically (UV/VIS) by addition of excess sulfide to (I) in buffered (pH 6-8) aqueous solution. The reverse hydrolysis reactions are measured under the same conditions. Values for the rate constants k1, k2, k3, k4, and k5 (see scheme) obtained at pH 7 are given. Reaction mechanisms are briefly discussed.
