Abstract

Thermolysis of the known furan (I) leads to dimethylenedihydrofuran (II) identified by its PE spectrum.

Thermolysis of the known furan (I) leads to dimethylenedihydrofuran (II) identified by its PE spectrum. When trapped in argon matrix it can be transformed photolytically to the title compound (III) (IR, PE).
