ChemInform Abstract

Addition of the arylureas (II) to the aroyl isothiocyanates (I) affords the hitherto unknown title compounds (III) "in good yields". Treatment of these with alkali causes cleavage of the aroyl moiety to leave the thiobiurets (IV). On treatment with H2O2 in the presence of HCl or with Br2 the title compounds (IIIa) and (IIIb) are converted to the thiadiazolones (V).
