ChemInform Abstract

Nucleophilic substitution of the dichlorobenzo(g)phthalazine (I) with 3-methoxypropylamine (II) gives the hydrochloride (III) which may be transformed to the free base. Its reaction with CoCl2 leads to (IV) (space group P1 with Z=2). UV, IR, 1H, and 13C NMR data for the hydrochloride (III) and its free base are tabulated.
