ChemInform Abstract

Acidification of a mixture of potassium tungstate and H3PO4 with HCl results in the precipitation of the title compound (no yield given). The lacunary species reacts with Co(II) to give two 1-1 complexes, probably coordination isomers. In the presence of Co(II), the A-type to B-type PW9 isomerization occurs in several steps, which are specified. The tungstophosphate β-isomers are less stablethan the corresponding tungstosilicates or -germanates, and β-PW12 is only identified as a reduced species PW12O44-0 (IR and Raman spectroscopy, 31P and 183W NMR).
