Abstract
The title compounds (II) are prepared by 4:1 molar reaction of 1-naphthylmethyl-MgCl (I) with the metal tetrachlorides as shown.

The title compounds (II) are prepared by 4:1 molar reaction of 1-naphthylmethyl-MgCl (I) with the metal tetrachlorides as shown. Their properties are compared to those of corresponding tetrabenzyl derivatives. The new compounds are characterized by hydrolysis and thermolysis reactions, and by IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectra.
