The chromanone (I) is converted to the enamine (III).

ChemInform Abstract

The chromanone (I) is converted to the enamine (III). Subsequent cyclization with guanidine (IVa) or the amidines (IVb) - (IVd) yields the cannabinol analogues (V). (MS-, 1H-NMR-data).
