Abstract
Reactions of ketene mercaptals (Ia), (Ib), (Id) with S,S-dialkylsulfurdiimides (II) give the colourless l t°,2,6-thiadiazines (III); reaction of (Ic) with (II) leads to ring-opened products (IV).

Reactions of ketene mercaptals (Ia), (Ib), (Id) with S,S-dialkylsulfurdiimides (II) give the colourless l t°,2,6-thiadiazines (III); reaction of (Ic) with (II) leads to ring-opened products (IV). Methyl-substituted lX′,2,6-thiadiazines (VII) can be prepared by condensation of (II) or (VI) with the acrylic acid derivative (V).
