Abstract

Transient ESR and absorption spectra indicate the formation of the radicals (II) and (III) during the flash photolysis of (I) at 333 K. On lowering the temp. to 303 K, the concomitant formation of (III) and (IX) is no longer observed.

ChemInform Abstract

Transient ESR and absorption spectra indicate the formation of the radicals (II) and (III) during the flash photolysis of (I) at 333 K. On lowering the temp. to 303 K, the concomitant formation of (III) and (IX) is no longer observed. Only in the case of the polymerization of vinyl acetate in the presence of (I) can a radical of the type (III) be detected. The influence of the radicals (II) and (III) on the polymerization of vinyl compounds is discussed.
