Abstract

Starting with the trimethoxysilane (I) the silanol (V) is obtained by the four reaction steps in the scheme and isolated as the hydrochloride (total yield about 45%).

Starting with the trimethoxysilane (I) the silanol (V) is obtained by the four reaction steps in the scheme and isolated as the hydrochloride (total yield about 45%). Because of its high pharmacological selectivity (V) has become a reference drug in experimental pharmacology for the differentiation of myscarinic receptors.
